(8/13/98, 6 p.m. PDT) - The soundtrack to the forthcoming Jackie Chan/ Chris Tucker film Rush Hour , due September 15, features a potent mix of R&B and hip-hop acts, including Dru Hill, the Wu-Tang Clan, Montell Jordan and Snoop Dogg.

In an effort to appeal to both R&B and hip-hop fans, Def Jam will release two different singles from the album simultaneously. Jay-Z's "Can I Get A" will be the first single worked to the rap world. A video clip for the track was recently shot by director Steven Carr. The clip includes cameos by actor Chris Penn and So So Def chief Jermaine Dupri.

On the R&B front, the label will work "How Deep Is Your Love" by Dru Hill. A clip for that track was lensed in Hong Kong by Rush Hour director Brett Ratner with the group and the film's stars. It's expected to turn up on video channels in the coming week.

The album also features some notable collaborations. Redman joins Dru Hill on "How Deep Is Your Love," Montell Jordan's "If I Die Tonight" features Monifah and Flesh-N-Bone, and Snoop Dogg teams with Slick Rick on "Unify."

In spite of the R&B and hip-hop sounds featured on the soundtrack, star Jackie Chan tells LAUNCH he actually prefers mellow sounds. "I listen to soft music," he says. "I don't like rock. Why? Because when they sing too fast, I cannot understand." Look for an interactive feature on Chan in a forthcoming LAUNCH CD-ROM.
