Chris LeDoux Undergoes Liver Transplant, Recovering In Omaha Hospital

(10/10/00, 10 a.m. ET) - Chris LeDoux underwent liver transplant surgery at Nebraska Health System in Omaha on Saturday (October 7) and is recovering nicely, according to a spokesperson for the singer. "The transplant surgery went well, and Chris is doing well at this time," said transplant surgeon Debra Sudan, M.D. LeDoux is already up and walking around, even managing to take in Sunday's (October 8) televised football game between Denver and San Diego.

The singer was placed on the organ transplant waiting list two months ago, after specialists diagnosed LeDoux with primary sclerosing cholangitis, a disease without a known cause that often results in death without a liver transplant. In lieu of flowers, LeDoux's family has asked that friends and fans send cards to LeDoux in care of AristoMedia, 1620 16th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37212.
