Big Pun Tribute Song Out Next Month

(5/19/00, 6 p.m. ET) - "Flowers For The Dead," the debut solo single by Terror Squad member Cuban Link that pays tribute to the late rapper Big Punisher , will be released on June 6. The song will be the first single from Cuban Link's debut solo album, 24K, and proceeds from the song's sales will be donated to the Liza Rios Fund, which was established to benefit Big Pun's wife and children.

One of the producers of "Flowers For The Dead," rapper and fellow Terror Squad member Fat Joe , says of the song, "Cuban is speaking on behalf of the whole Terror Squad about our feelings for Pun. Cuban and Pun were best friends, so it was the only way to go. The day after Pun died, he went into the studio and just let out all his pain. So it's really through Cuban that we're letting the world know how much Pun meant to us and how hard it will be to go on without him."

Big Pun died of a heart attack at the age of 28 (LAUNCH, 2/7).
