Bad Boy Entertainment's last chance falls in the hands of the East Harlem, N.Y.-native Black Rob. With the Notorious B.I.G. gone, Mase retired, and the Lox released, Black Rob is definitely the last man standing. But with his debut Life Story, BR more than proves that he can stand on his own two feet.
Life Story is a complete package of skilled rhymes and tight-ass beats. Black Rob's true-to-life lyricism and painted-picture storytelling will earn him his right to be ranked among only the best MCs. Each song is different than the next, and still manages to bang in the speakers. Rob contributes his own anthem for the streets with the blazing "Whoa," in which he ends each verse with the exclamation, "Whoa!" There are no boundaries here, as Black Rob delivers a thug love story with "Jasmine." Though Bad Boy may be in its last days, Black Rob has shown that he will be around for a while.
